My Guindy Classmate, Dr. Rajagopalan introduced Mr. Krishnaswamy of Wheaton, Illinois to me. Mr. Krishnaswamy is a Civil Engineering graduate from Coimbatore, one year junior to me, now working for Seargent and Lundy. I got in touch with him and he came to visit me one evening. He also showed the Hare Krishna Center close to campus.
I start going to their temple every Sunday as there is a sumptuous vegetarian meal after the Bhajan.
I was a Krishna devotee every Sunday evening until I left Evanston!

I meet other people from India from the nearby areas as well as some NU students. One of the gentlemen is doing business as a travelling agent beside other works. I ask him "I want to get my wife here - can you help me?"
"What are you talking? I am sorry. Why do you say such things to me?"
"I just wanted to see if you can help me get the ticket for my wife and children to fly in from India - you said you are a travel agent!"
I realize the cause for his getting upset - I should have said "I want to bring my wife...." instead of "...get my wife..."
